A recommendation that the best free, open source Python IDE

Pycharm Free Community Edition is a free open source Python IDE, from Jetbrains (the IDEA, PHPStorm, IntelliJ produced by RubyMine are fine).

I use Pycharm 2 for more than two years, from the beginning of the trial version (each month reload time), then pay ( a year, second years), now and then to the open source free version (paid version remains, a remote debugging, basically do not use function).

Pycharm is a rare good tool, a while ago unsubscribed next order (not unsubscribe will automatically debit), after the expiration of ready to use open source free version (before the trial, no difference for me and paid version).

At the Python coding colleagues are happy, happy life.

The use of a period of time free open source version, feeling than the professional version of stability is poor, also do not support an individual file types are highlighted (such as CSS)
The difference between pure Python development is not, if it is web development or professional trial convenience.

Memory seems to be very high

Pycharm the use of Java development, is a bit of memory.
But now the memory is not expensive, I half a year ago added a 8G memory also spent more than 2.

It is said that Linux effect is quite good, I was Win7, is not an ordinary card! I wish performance improvement, it really is the one and only IDE

Oh, but I am apple notebook and colleagues Dell laptop (M$Windows) speed is very good, will not be a Java version or system of environmental problems
I think it should be compared with the development of Java Eclipse (PyDev) a little better.

Tried all day, feeling good.

But I have used eclipse. . . .

Looked at but not how I used the Linux version of the win do not know
Wing IDE far worse than at least Linux and win Wing IDE equally well if your machine with multiple versions of Python you'll find out you recommend this. . . .
IntelliJ IDEA this is good to write Java or not good not good is only energy resources

Pycharm Python multi version supported as well (settings can import you need to use the python version and the environment), you can also build out any number of Python virtual environment using VirtualBox.
After the text, please check your spelling (the last words I do not know why Italy).

Can really multi version configuration with his almost phpstorm
This IDE is IntelliJ IDEA this is good Java I rookie must rely heavily on automatically

But said about Python and PHP you see I probably know

Speed resource occupation although I machine is the 6G memory

Wing IDE itself is written in Python
Pycharm accounted for hundreds of MB memory Wing IDE drove several days still accounts for 70 M
In the speed of the two is no comparison

Ide this thing have different hobbies can not say when writing large script may be used
Sometimes the little things may be direct VIM is just a personal opinion

Posted by Brenda at June 05, 2016 - 10:37 PM

1, PyCharm is a memory accounted for nearly 3, 400, MB. (small memory machine is not recommended)
2, Not necessarily linked to memory and speed, only when there is not enough memory for the impact velocity (PyCharm speed not feel than IDE slow)
3, I said here the best (no one) have a premise is free and open, according to Wing IDE I know not yet open source free version.
4, The title is a bit of an exaggeration, I'll change.

Also attached a few screenshots

Accustomed to VIM

Posted by natascha at June 28, 2016 - 11:53 PM

VIM is also the default text editor, there was a time to do the test, the test data using VIM is really very cool (custom macros, recording, automated batch processing), now forgotten.
