Installation of Linux nginx

Recommended for you: Get network issues from WhatsUp Gold. Not end users.
Download the pcre-8.31.tar.bz2 and nginx-1.5.1.tar.gz

Install pcre-8.31
  1. tar -vxjf pcre-8.31.tar.bz2
  2. ./configure
  3. make
  4. make install



Install nginx-1.5.1
  1. tar xzvf nginx-1.5.1.tar.gz
  2. ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/nginx
  3. --with-openssl=/usr/Include (SSL enabled)
  4. --with-pcre=/usr/include/pcre/ (enable regular expression)
  5. --with-http_stub_status_module (installation can view the nginx state of the program)
  6. --with-http_memcached_module (Memcache caching is enabled)
  7. --with-http_rewrite_module (enable support for URL rewriting)
  8. make
  9. make install



Start
/usr/local/nginx/sbin/nginx
If there is an error error while loading shared libraries: libpcre.so.1
Solution
  1. cd /lib
  2. ls *pcre*
  3. libpcre.so.0 libpcre.so.0.0.1
  4. ln -s /lib/libpcre.so.0.0.1 /lib/libpcre.so.1 ##To add a soft link:


The front can solve this problem in a general Linux.

Note: in some operating system above, after PCRE is installed, the installation position for/usr/local/lib/*pcre*
The case on the RedHat 64 bit machines.
In the RedHat 64 bit machines, nginx can read PCRE files to /lib64/libpcre.so.1 files.
So in the soft connection to the following:

ln -s /usr/local/lib/libpcre.so.1 /lib64/
