The difference between IP, PV and UV

  PV (traffic): Page View, namely the pageviews or clicks, the user is calculated once per flush.
  UV (independent visitors): Unique Visitor, visit your site a client computer to a visitor. 00:00-24:00 within the same client to be computed only once.
  IP (IP): refers to the number of independent IP. 00:00-24:00 in the same IP address is calculated once.

  Now most of the statistical tools statistics only to IP and PV level, because in most cases, IP and UV had little difference. But due to the particularity of campus network, enterprise organizations and some other departments, the actual situation of IP have been very difficult to reflect the real site, so the introduction of this concept more precise UV.

  All UV and PV for the IP is the use of real users, values are the same.

  But if you visit the site of a through "network address translation" (NAT) Internet users, then the two value is different. All the stationmaster, the value of the UV is still of great significance.

  So what causes UV to less than IP?

  In general, the statistical UV number should be greater than or equal to the number of IP, but in some cases, there may be UV number will be less than the number of IP:
